About the Carbon Dynamic Airbox - CDA FILTERING SYSTEM

The CDA filtering system is composed of a cylindrical carbon air box containing a washable filtering element. Substituting the original air box with the CDA, cold air is directly channelled through an internal airflow deflector to the filter and drawn into the engine with a very small pressure drop (patented system). The CDA system also includes a black alloy ducting (60 cm length) where required for connecting the system to an air intake on the front of the car. The universal system is available in three different dimensions: we advise Type 1 (CDA70-130) for engines up to 1,600 cc; Type 2 (CDA85-150) for bigger displacements and Type3 (CDA100-150) for 6 cylinder and V8 engines. Every type is also available in different diameters on engine side for connections. Dyno and Datron Laser tests demonstrate the great performance of the CDA filtering system.

The CDA air box was developed by BMC primarily as a universal application and can be adapted to fit most vehicles. In many cases accessories will be required to fit a CDA system to your vehicle. Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 universal versions of the CDA are supplied with the following accessories as standard:

Type 1 (CDA70-130) - 70mm OD (Outer Diameter) standard neck outlet 2 x nylon reducers to 60 and 65mm OD necks.

Type 2 (CDA85-150) - 85mm OD (Outer Diameter) standard neck outlet 1 x nylon reducer to 70mm OD neck.

Type 3 (CDA100-150) - 100mm OD (Outer Diameter) standard neck outlet (no additional reducers).

BMC have also developed a range of 'special versions' of the CDA, developed to fit specific vehicles. These kits are Type 4 onwards with kit codes (CDASP-01 to CDASP-45 and onwards).
